Getting to Know You

I am no one special ~ apart from one extraordinary thing:  I am a child of God through Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords.  Nothing humbles a person more genuinely or exalts him more profoundly than that relationship.   It is from that standing that the thoughts offered on this site originate.  The words shared don’t come from superficial theory or vain imaginations, but from faith exercised in the midst of losses and sorrows that are a part of the human condition.

In His providence, God has allowed suffering for reasons I will not fully understand until I see my Savior face to face.  But this I know – He works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

You may be struggling with hardships that seem anything but good and you’re wondering where God is.  May I assure you, He is near.   If you are not a believer, these writings are an invitation for you to come to Him. If you are, they are meant to reassure you that His grace is sufficient to see you through every trial.  He is with you, just as He has been with me …

  • When confronted with a divorce I didn’t want
  • in the years of raising a son with ADHD as a single mom
  • in the events that introduced me to my second husband
  • in the decline of his health from diabetes
  • in the heartaches of a son snared by drug addiction
  • in the room where I found him overdosed
  • in the time of mourning
  • in the death of my husband a year later
  • in the depth of mourning
  • in unexpected loss of employment
  • in guidance to meaningful work
  • and …

He remains with me every hour of every day no matter what life brings!  God is with His people in the good and the bad, in the joys and the sorrows, faithfully sustaining us along the way.  Sometimes, we need reminders so we can set our feet once again on the path of hope.

Perhaps you’re on a difficult journey and you just need to rest for a moment.  Maybe you long to express a thought or ask for prayer.  Whatever it may be I pray God lifts you in our brief visits.

His Word tells us that we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus our Lord.  Regardless of how we may feel, the hope He offers is worthy of our trust because God, in His love, is with us all the way!
